Deze uitgave bevat historische opnamen van Willem Mengelberg met het Concertgebouworkest, de Berliner Philharmoniker en – als bijzondere bonus – een opname met de New York Philharmonic.

The Willem Mengelberg Society is proud to present a brand-new 3-CD set titled ‘Willem Mengelberg – The Tchaikovsky Recordings’. This release brings together historic recordings by Willem Mengelberg with the Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam, the Berlin Philharmonic, and— as a special bonus —a recording with the New York Philharmonic.
For this album, the audio engineer and restoration specialist Jochem Geene has once again demonstrated outstanding craftsmanship. The result is remarkable: a clear and spacious sound, free from noise and distracting clicks, offering a listening experience that comes strikingly close to that of a modern recording.
